Listed below are answers to some of the more frequently asked questions asked by residents and their families. If you have a question not listed below or would like more information on a particular topic, contact the community hospitality director at (586) 293-3300.
A: Assisted Living is a private pay service, so residents are responsible for these charges. Some long-term care insurance policies will cover some of these fees. Verify coverage with your insurance provider. A: Most insurance plans, including Medicare, cover a portion of room and board fees for no more than 100 days based on medical need. Thereafter the resident must either pay privately or cover charges through Medicaid. Verify coverage with your insurance provider. A: We do not require a security deposit, but new Assisted Living Residents may be required to pay one month’s fees in advance. New Nursing Care residents must submit payment verification information before moving in (insurance, private payment or Medicare). A: We may schedule trips to parks, shopping centers, restaurants, entertainment venues and more. Within our community we offer game and movie nights, resident clubs, special musical performances and other events as requested by the residents. While activities are available for all residents, they are not obligated to participate. A: No, we welcome residents of all faiths. A: Each residential community has its own Clinical Care Coordinator (CCC), who is responsible for resident care. A physician is also present six days a week and available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should you wish to make an appointment to visit or speak with the physician, arrangements can be made with the CCC. A: A member of our nursing staff will contact the family in the event a resident has a health issue or is hospitalized. A: Yes, in fact we encourage it. Guests simply pay for their own meals. A: Yes, small dogs, cats and birds are allowed. We ask that your pet’s shots are current and that you keep them on a leash or in a bird cage. A: Absolutely. Residents may move within our community from Assisted Living to Nursing Care or Memory Care according to their medical needs. Rehabilitation Services are also available. A: General visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. We can also accommodate other schedules.
